This year, LAEA Fall Conference will feature Helen Hiebert, artist and author of “Playing with Pop-ups” and “Playing with Paper”. Conference is going to focus on work made with paper, specifically sculptural works, pop-ups, and STEAM activities that use paper.

Friday, Nov 8
2:00pm-6:00pm— Registration/check-in at Holiday Inn, downtown AEX
2:00-4:00pm— Board meeting at AMOA in the education classroom (2nd floor)
6:00pm— All Conference attendees are invited to the members-only preview of the opening exhibit…wine…cheese…etc… Helen Hiebert will also have a small installation and book signing, etc.. at the museum that evening.
7:00– Dinner on your own— TBA – discount options for restaurants within walking distance of hotel.
Saturday, Nov 9
8:00-9:00am— Books and breakfast (breakfast catered by the PHS culinary arts program): bring your favorite art resource book to share in a book speed-dating activity over breakfast.
9:15-11:15– morning sessions
11:30-12:30– lunch with “Rubric Roundtable”— table discussions concerning how we evaluate and grade student artwork
12:45- 1:45– Keynote, business meeting, any other items that need to be added by the board…
2:00-4:00pm— Afternoon sessions
6:45 pm (tentative)— art umbrella second line from holiday inn to museum (Cindy Blair and Nancy from AMOA will be leading a paper umbrella workshop….will use those for second line)
7:00pm-9:30pm— Silent auction, dinner, awards at AMOA
