LAEA Headed to the 2018 NAEA Conference

   LAEA members met up in Seattle for the 2018 NAEA Conference. They got the opportunity to take in museums, the sites of Seattle, techniques that can be incorporated into their classrooms, new methods of art marking, and watch Shelly Breaux receive the Southeastern Secondary Art Educator Award. Thank you to the art educators who traveled to Seattle to represent the Louisiana art educators! Way to go!

Artists in the Capitol Day 2018

The ceremony for Artists in the Capitol Day was held in the Louisiana State Capitol State Building on March 19, 2018. On this day our Youth Art Month Flag winners and contest participants were honored. Winning artists received commendation certificates from Louisiana House and Senate members. Eloise Voorhies Gary Memorial Award Fund

Art Education Scholarship Accepting Applications(Lafayette, La.) – The Eloise Voorhies Gary Memorial Award Fund, a scholarship fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA), is now accepting applications. Artists in the Capital Day 2016

   Artists in the Capitol Day was held on Monday, May 2, 2016 in Baton Rouge in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building. All entries were on display beginning at 9:45. The ceremony began with music at 10:45 and  honored the winners of the YAM Flag Design Contest and the State and National Level teacher award nominees. the winners were presented on the floor of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
